In June, Fulani militants attacked Christian villages in Benue State Nigeria. More than 200 people were murdered and thousands more are displaced.

They invaded our village at night, around 22:00. They killed many of our people, including many of my husband’s family.

After the attack they burned down buildings including stories where mothers and children were sleeping.

We were told that they were coming so I was unable to sleep that night. Because of previous attacks, some people don’t have houses so they slept in these stores. So they burned everything. They burned people inside with their goods.

My father’s wife was inside the store. During the burning of the store, she escaped there narrowly. My grandfather attempted to run away then they shot him down and butchered him. Over 200 people were killed during the attack and I witnessed it live.

We are staying at an international market in Makurdi where the Governor is camping us there.
Because all our food supplies have been burned, we don’t any food to eat. Since we arrived here, not all of us found a place to sleep.
And there’s not enough food. I pray that God empowers fellow believers to help us.
At times we have to share our cups. At times we have to share our spoons. So life is difficult.
Open Doors partners have started providing crucial food aid, but resources are running out more is urgently needed.
