INTRO:

IN THE PAST YEAR, REPORTS SUGGEST THAT FAITH IN THE UNITED KINGDOM MAY BE RE-EMERGING—OFTEN QUIETLY, AND OFTEN AMONG YOUNGER GENERATIONS.

IT’S AGAINST THAT BACKDROP THAT THOUSANDS GATHERED IN LONDON FOR A MAJOR EVANGELISTIC CRUSADE LED BY 2819 CHURCH…

A US-BASED CONGREGATION BRINGING ITS PUBLIC EVANGELISM FOCUS TO THE UK.

ALISA LATTY-ALLEYNE REPORTS WHAT HAPPENED IN LONDON.

PACKAGE:

VO:

In a nation long described as post-Christian,

this moment suggests the conversation may no longer be about whether people are open to faith —

but whether the church is ready for what that openness is becoming.

VO:

More than 7,000 people gathered at ExCeL London —

one of the capital’s largest exhibition and event venues.

Not for a concert or a conference,

but for a moment of decision.

What unfolded inside reflected what many say is quietly happening across the UK —

faith stepping back into the public square.

VO:

As people queued to enter into the arena we spoke with several attendees at the front of the line —

including Michael, Leilani, and Isabelle —

about why they had come, and what they were hoping for.

MICHAEL: Attendee

I encountered Jesus in a prison cell.

And then I came out of prison with a word. That’s incredible.

Just to see God using someone like him —

It gives me hope to know that God can use me in this nation.

Because we need Jesus.

We need Jesus.

LEILANI: Attendee

God. The Holy Spirit. Everything.

I’m so excited.

I’ve been seeing Philip Anthony Mitchell on Instagram,

and the wisdom he pours out — what the Holy Spirit has graced him with.

I’m ready to receive more.

VO:

The crusade was led by Philip Anthony Mitchell,

senior pastor of 2819 Church,

known for direct, scripture-centered preaching and public calls to repentance and renewal. Mitchell told the crowd he hadn’t come to London for an event but for what he described as

an assignment.

PHILIP ANTHONY MITCHELL: Senior Pastor, 2819 Church

I didn’t come to London for an event.

I came on an assignment. Out of obedience — not chasing platforms.

That’s not the kind of ministry this is.

We’re here because we’re being faithful to what God has spoken.

VO:

Drawing from the New Testament book of Jude,

and pointing to the decline of historic Christian strongholds across Europe and the Middle East,

Mitchell issued both a warning and a call.

He urged believers to contend for their faith,

resist complacency,

and reject a Christianity shaped by comfort rather than conviction.

MITCHELL:

You cannot leave this place the way that you came in. Your assignment is to pray.

VO:

As the message reached its peak, thousands responded.

Some recommitting their lives to a deeper faith.

Others making a first public decision to follow Jesus.

The atmosphere reflected a resolve to move beyond private conviction

into public action.

VO:

At the end of the night, we caught up again with Leilani and Isabelle.

LEILANI:

I want to post about Jesus — just Jesus — more for the kingdom. Everywhere I go.

ISABELLE:

Yeah, just everywhere I go, I’ve been a contender and really preserving Christian values that need to be here in this country.

MITCHELL:

My prayers — and even my financial support —

are about helping fuel what God is doing.

I believe revival is strengthened through evangelism —

the proclamation of God’s Word,

the winning of souls,

the multiplying of disciples.

Time is running out.

We don’t need dead sermons.

Believers need to be stirred.

And unbelievers need to be called home to the loving Father.

VO:

What unfolded here wasn’t framed as a finish — but as a beginning.

Not a moment to be remembered,

but a mandate to be carried.

As faith moves from quiet curiosity to visible conviction,

the spotlight now turns to the church.
