Only days after his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States, President Donald Trump accompanied Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham to Buncombe County, North Carolina, to see their ongoing Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
President Trump and Graham visited homeowners in the hard-hit area, assessing needs and sharing words of encouragement as the long road to recovery continues.

We’re here today to show the president just a little bit of the damage and the problems that the people of western North Carolina are facing.

I promised that I come back to western North Carolina to help the people of the state. And today, here I am. We’ve come to North Carolina with a simple message for all the people of this region who were hit so hard by Hurricane Helene and that message is very simple.
You are not forgotten any longer.

Our house was totally destroyed. The foundations gone. It blew out windows, took out walls. Everything that we had was pretty much gone.
Franklin Graham
This is just one house representing hundreds and hundreds of houses that lost everything. That’s just one tragedy after another. But we’re so thankful. And we give God the glory that He’s allowed us to be in a position to help.
