Bob and Edwina Tatum – Homeowners
We lived here 46 years. This is the wedding. Our son was married there. We were comfortable. We were retired. A good coffee spot in the mornings. And then Helene hit. This is our back deck. So that’s how close we were to the raging water. We left out that night. Just the clothes on our back and our two dogs.
We went from having a comfortable life to having nothing.
Franklin Graham – Samaritan’s Purse President and CEO
Right now I’m in Minneapolis, not Minnesota, but North Carolina, a little town up here in the mountains that got devastated during Hurricane Helene. This couple behind us near fall for insurance. They had done everything they could. God. Nothing. A news organization told their story. Then we saw heard about it.
Bob
My daughter told me Samaritan’s Purse is trying to get a hold of you.
And so I called the number that she gave me to go, and he said we we’re going to rebuild your house. We were just dumbfounded. I knew we had been beating our head to the find God. God comes in the back door.
Franklin Graham
God has allowed us to come in and help and we gave them a home and we give God the glory.
We’re thankful to God for those resources.
Bob
You know, we went from having nothing to having a new house today, and thinks are looking up and God still in control and like, say, we’re getting back to halfway normal, whatever normal anymore.
