One of the only secure ways for Yemeni Christians to share their story is by meeting in a safe country outside Yemen.
We live among wolves. We know that very well. In Yemen, is it very difficult to share the Gospel with a woman because she cannot go freely out of her house. So that is where God called me. I know that sometimes when I enter a house I might not come back out.
Despite the dangers, Zahra has chosen to share her account on camera. Her face and voice have been hidden to protect her identity.
I cannot carry the Bible with me. They can search me at any checkpoint on the way. For a woman to come to Christ is really a miracle. Despite the dangers God is at work. But some will tell me “You are an infidel and you deserve to be killed.”
They can take me to the extremists, or the police station and that is where the interrogation starts. They can even issue my death sentence. We are under constant surveillance.
I start serving with a brother in Christ called Anis. We visited families in their homes to minister to them. During one of the visits Anis got a text saying we were being watch and they wanted to kill us both. One week later I received a call: ‘Anis was killed.’
The extremists found his house. That’s where they shot him – in front of his kids. I was shocked. For one month I didn’t want to go out. Would I be next? Could I be next? But I have chose this way. Jesus took my pain. He carried my guilt and now it is my turn to carry the cross.
I know that tell my story is very risky and sometimes I want to back away. But I’m sharing it with you because I wish I could share the Gospel with every woman in Yemen. Pray for me. Help me to reach every girl and woman so they can be saved by Jesus. I cannot do this alone.
