At the European Congress on Evangelism in Berlin, Germany, last month, Christ-followers could interact with more than 1,000 fellow believers from every European country—united to grow in their faith. Evangelist Franklin Graham challenged those in attendance not to compromise in reaching Europe for Christ.
SCRIPT:
More than a thousand Christian leaders gathered in Berlin last month for the European Congress on Evangelism.
Franklin Graham opened the congress with this challenge to those in attendance from 56 countries across the continent:
If we’re going to reach Europe we’re going to reach an army. An army of evangelists unafraid, unashamed, unapologetic, uncompromising, standing on the word of God.
The following day he shared how he’d had the opportunity to meet with and pray with Ukraine’s president:
I prayed for President Putin, I prayed for him and I prayed for President Trump that God would give them wisdom and that God would give them a path forward for peace.
Many speakers inspired those to share the Gospel despite their challenging circumstances, including Dr David Karcha an evangelist and pastor from Ukraine.
In a time of peace the Gospel is powerful, but in a time of war the Gospel is unstoppable.
And at the close of the congress all of the delegates recommitted themselves to taking the Good News of Jesus Christ back to their communities, countries and to the next generation.
And the Billy Graham Evangelistic association who coordinated this gathering said they believed it has been Europe’s largest evangelism-focused event in 25 years.
