AP BLAZED THE TRAIL
The concept is not new. In 1846 five New York City newspapers pooled their resources to fund a pony express route that would bring them news of the Mexican War more quickly than the U.S. Post Office. What those newspapers began many years ago in New York is now the Associated Press, the world’s dominant news service.
