Pastor Gennadiy has a chaplain’s law that he personally prays with everyone he serves on Ukraine’s frontlines.
And he says he is seeing a remarkable openness to the Gospel in his country in the midst of continued conflict there.
SCRIPT:
After more than three years of war in Ukraine with Russia, while fighting continues to intensify a pastor from Mariupol remains steadfast in helping his people in these desperate times.
Pastor Gennady Mokhenko with the ministry Ukraine aid says they are doing all they can to help both civilians and soldiers on the frontlines.
We serve people on frontlines for the past three years. We serve the soldiers and civilian people. It’s a critical situation. They have no electricity, no water, no medicine and we bring them all that they need.
He says he also ministers to people’s spiritual needs both as a pastor and military chaplain he see a remarkable openness to the Gospel.
All my country is very open now for God for Bibles for Christianity. I have a chaplain’s law. Every time when I come to people and help them I pray with people. But sometimes if I leave without praying with them they say you forgot something very serious and I say oh no sorry and we pray together.
And Pastor Gennady is urging prayer that the current peace talks for Ukraine will bring a lasting end to the bloodshed in his country.
