Samaritan’s Purse responded immediately to the earthquake in Myanmar by flying an Emergency Field Hospital to the hard-hit capital city.
SCRIPT:
An emergency field hospital run by a Christian charity has started to provide vital medical treatment to the survivors of Myanmar’s devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that claimed at least 3,500 people.
Samaritan’s Purse flew this mobile hospital from their headquarters in Calgary in Canada to the capital Naypyidaw (Nay-peet-ow) and quickly began treating patients.
Melanie Wubs from the charity explains more about the help they’re providing:
A lot of people with severe orthopedic injuries that some of them remain untreated from the earthquake and some of them had initially rapid surgery or treatment but now need further revisions and wounds cleaning and that sort of thing.
And she urged prayer for their team as they not only provide practical but also spiritual support to their patients as they seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus for the people of Myanmar.
