When Bulbula became a Christian in Ethiopia, his cousin Adam tried to kill him.

Bulbula
One night, the Lord appeared to me in a dream. He said I am your Messiah.
Bulbula from Ethiopia used to be a prominent Muslim leader in his community. Until he started having visions of Jesus. Later, while he was walking in the town, a young man came up and told him that God wanted him and led him to church.
Bulbula
We walked to the church together. The pastor and the elders were all there. And then after I entered the compound, that young man disappeared. I don’t know where he went. The elders made fun of me when they saw me. They said, what is our Muslim brother doing here? They refused to accept me until I convinced them that my conversion was true.
After he converted, Bulbula faced a lot of persecution. His property was stolen and he was physically assaulted. His own family even offered a reward to anyone who killed him.
Adam
I used to think of you as a disgrace and an infidel when you converted. That’s why I tried to kill you with a spear. Even though you were my cousin, I considered you an infidel. I wanted to kill you and enter into heaven because you were worthless.
But one day Adam himself had a vision of Jesus, and he too converted to Christianity.
Now both men are mocked and pressured. But keep following Jesus together.
Adam
Since the day I believed in Jesus Christ, I have been persecuted. I’ve been beaten. My clothes have been stolen and my belongings have been stolen repeatedly. They took my pair of oxen that I used for farming. They destroyed my crops. Seven months ago, they made my wife divorce me. They hoped that it would make me return to Islam.
Every day we rely on God’s help. We pray that God continues to help us
Bulbula
Persecution is good for us. It helps us to continue to walk in the right path to learn Biblical truths. He was my persecutor and now he’s my friend. We go everywhere together as friends. We even go out to preach the gospel together.
We consult each other and chat about everything in life. We have gone from hating each other to loving each other as Christians.
