Ken Isaacs story of how he has served with Samaritan’s Purse for 3 ½ decades is told in his new book called Running To The Fire. It takes readers into the heart of crisis zones. From sniper-lined streets in Bosnia to famine camps in Ethiopia, Isaacs shares what it’s like to serve on the edge of disaster.
The former North Carolina well-driller turned global humanitarian explains what motivated him to put his life on the line to help the most vulnerable people on the planet:
God answered my prayer of being called to the world. My wife thought I was losing my mind. I’ve lived an unusual life. I’ve seen extraordinary unusual things and I have experienced in an unusual way how worthy God is of trusting. And I just wanted to capture all of those things through stories that I have experienced and put them into a book in the hopes that it would inspire other people to run to the fires of the world and not to sit idly by.
So what advice does Isaacs have for those seeking God’s calling on their own lives in how they should run to the fire:
And even after 35 years in the ministry Isaacs says he has no plans to retire and will continue help those in desperate need with Christ’s compassion.
