As the Christian-run Seeds of Hope farm feeds hundreds of families in desperate need in Lebanon, this agricultural ministry is also feeding many people spiritually.
VIDEO SCRIPT
As Lebanon continues to struggle under an economic crisis, Christian ministry Help The Persecuted is helping to feed thousands of families in desperate need through their Seeds of Hope farm, which recently expanded to 1.3 acres with 34 commercial tents.
STAND UP PETE: It’s a blazing hot day here at the Seeds of Hope farm but it also means at summer time it’s harvest time. They’re reaping some incredible vegetables that are literally feeding around a thousand families at the moment. But they’re also reaping a spiritual harvest as this is enabling them to feed the word of God as well.
Each week the team from Help The Persecuted loads their truck with fresh vegetables and distributes them at several churches. In the past year alone they fed a total of nearly 8,000 families. But this also bridges a gap to those who don’t yet know Christ.
As result of Seeds of Hope, many have come to know Christ and have gone on to declare their newfound faith by being baptized.
Farm worker Yasser who fled Syria himself due to persecution says it’s extremely rewarding to serve the Lord through his own passion of working the land:
Everything we do on the farm is a highlight for me. It’s my passion to work in farming.
When you see people receiving the vegetables you can see their needs And the impact it’s having in their lives And you see the joy in their eyes.
And Help The Persecuted remains committed to rescuing, restoring and rebuilding the lives of many more families as they continue to see this remarkable spiritual harvest throughout Lebanon.
