Practical and Spiritual Support For Persecuted Families in Lebanon

When Christian families flee persecution, they not only have practical needs but they also need spiritual support. That’s why Christian ministry Help The Persecuted has a pastoral care team in Lebanon that visits their homes each month to stand alongside them.

They also have opportunities to reach out to local families as well as refugees who are not yet believers sharing the Gospel and offering prayer and follow-up for them.

VIDEO SCRIPT

As countless families who have fled life-threatening persecution and now live in Lebanon are struggling because of economic hardship and conflict, one ministry team is having a remarkable impact in bringing hope and healing to them.

Each month the Pastoral Care Team with Christian ministry Help The Persecuted visits between 100 to 150 homes to provide practical and spiritual support and encouragement to Christians that have stood for their faith in Christ and have been persecuted as well as to other vulnerable believers.

They also have opportunities to reach out to local families as well as refugees who are not yet believers sharing the Gospel and offering prayer and follow-up for them.

Their team leader Pierre explains more as they pack emergency relief kits ready for their latest home visits:

We give the small presents for the apartment as an introduction and as a good gesture for us to be able to be accepted in the apartment and we talk about Jesus. Some of the families do accept Jesus. The Pastoral Care Team always prays with the families. Some of them come to church, some don’t. But all of them receive the message of Jesus Christ

Pierre shares the story at the home of one family they’ve reached out to who are facing several medical issues:

The family we visited now is full of sick people. The woman has cancer in her mouth and her throat. And the man has strokes all over his body. Their grandson also is blind and the pastoral care team from HTP is following up on this family spiritually. And today we prayed for their health and their safety as well and for their blessings.

And this is the moment their blind grandson Sharbil sang a moving song to the team.

Pierre: He wrote a song about Jesus that says although I’m blind, I cannot see you, but I love you and you are in my heart. And he sang to us this song.

And Help The Persecuted remains committed to not only bringing practical help but also ongoing spiritual support to many more families like these.
