Actor: [00:00:00] Jesus of Nazareth!

Reporter: For those who live in the English speaking world, watching the first four seasons of the streaming television series, The Chosen, has been a popular activity. The story focuses on Jesus of Nazareth and his followers, and the TV series has attracted faithful followers of its own.

Actor: speaking in Korean

Reporter: But now, thanks to the Come and See Foundation, viewers beyond the English speaking world will have a chance to enjoy this powerful story in their own language.

Actor: speaking in French

Reporter: Currently, the series has been translated and dubbed into more than 40 languages, but the goal is much more ambitious. Stan Jantz is the CEO of the Come and See Foundation.

Stan Jantz: Come and See is a non-profit that exists to make it possible for [00:01:00] 1 billion people to experience the authentic Jesus. And we believe that doing that with The Chosen is, uh, the way to accomplish that goal, and so our mission is to make it possible for all seven seasons of The Chosen to be produced, and for all episodes of all seven seasons to be translated into 600 languages.

Reporter: One of the first opportunities to take The Chosen to the uttermost parts of the world came in the form of an invitation.

Stan Jantz: The country of Madagascar. This is an island nation off the coast of Africa. The president of Madagascar is a Christian, and last year he requested that The Chosen be translated into Malagasy and dubbed so they could show it in their country, on their national network, and in other ways, publicly, so people could experience it.

Interviewee 1: I’ve just been to the premiere of the Malagasy version of The Chosen and it is excellent. I’ve watched series about Jesus, but this is different. When you see him in [00:02:00] Malagasy, it touches your heart, and not just my heart, but the heart of the Malagasy people.

Interviewee 2: I think it’s going to touch a lot of people here in Madagascar. And I particularly thank the producers those who had the initiative of the series, but also those who have the initiative of dubbing it in Malagasy and spreading it everywhere here in Madagascar.

Stan Jantz: They were just thrilled with the first time any studio had translated and produced a dubbed language in Malagasy, and here it is, The Chosen. So that’s our, that’s our mission, and it’s, it’s a, it’s a big task, but we, we believe that this is God’s calling for us, but also we are so encouraged, especially in the area of this translation, making it accessible, but also then the distribution that takes place through various ministries who are established on a global scale, and are finding the Chosen to be an amazing, both evangelistic and [00:03:00] discipleship tool.
