Yasin (name changed) in Iraq became a Christian after encountering Jesus in a dream. He had to hide his Bible, and he is cautious about sharing his faith – but he also knows God is using him to spread the gospel.

I used to spend a lot of time at the mosque mostly because it was expected of me. I argued with God a lot.
I said: ‘God if You are real, show me a sign. I want to live with you,’
I was sleeping and had a dream. I saw someone coming toward me. I cannot describe how beautiful he was. He placed his had on my head and said: ‘You are my beloved child. This is the way follow me. I told a Muslim friend about the dream. He said it was from the devil.
But in my heart I knew it wasn’t from the devil. I had a Christian friend in my village who was very close to my father. I went to him and shared my dream. He replied: ‘I can explain it to you. This is God showing Himself to you.’
The first time I read the Bible, I cried because of its beautiful words. I covered the title of the Bible with tape. I was reading it so much at home and my children didn’t know what the book was. But as my behavior began to change, they asked ‘Why have you changed?’
I told them: ‘Because I’m reading the Bible,’ which came as a shock to my family. My wife said: ‘God will burn our house down because of this. One day my brother came to visit. The mullah told him that I was giving out Bibles and that he should stop me.
He tried to kill me many times. They threw firebombs at my house and left a threatening letter saying: ‘If you don’t leave Christianity, we will kill you.
Jesus Himself said: ‘The sheep know the voice of their shepherd. The church is the voice of God and God gave the church to us. I feel like a sheep among wolves, because people don’t treat us well anymore. They don’t talk to us and when we go out they insult us. But I know that God has a mission for me – to bring the good news to my village. I tried many times to leave, but God put in my heart to stay. I’m a believer in Jesus Christ. I know He wants to use me there.
