While Iran has been rocked by conflict and civil unrest, satellite Christian broadcasts are impacting many across the country with the message of the Gospel.

This is thanks to Iran Alive Ministries who have been beaming the hope of Christ into Iran for the past 25 years.

Their founder is Muslim turned Christian pastor Dr Hormoz Shariat. He says despite intense persecution of believers there, they are seeing a remarkable response to their broadcasts:

Our channel is the most popular Christian channel in Iran and their survey found that 7.7% of Iranians watch our programs daily, so that’s 7 million. I’m saying that to show the grace God has given us to have an influence on the people of Iran. Evangelism yes, many are coming to Christ through us. We have the names of 120,000 people who have come to Chris through us, but talking about Christians by God’s grace we are in touch with we have impacted their lives. You know they don’t have any churches in Iran so they’re very dependent on media ministries like ours.

And if Iran see regime change as a result of the current conflict Iran Alive is planning to focus their efforts on church planting.
