While so many families throughout Ukraine have been ripped apart by the war and have lost everything one Christian charity is investing in the future generation of the nation through their newly opened learning center.
GNA reporter Peter Wooding had the opportunity to see first hand the impact of the Treasures of the Nation school which is run by Christian charity Mercy Projects.

Many Ukrainian families continue to be displaced by the war and children are often.. isolated by being unable to physically attend school classes.
However just a few weeks ago this learning center which is called Treasures of the Nation was opened to help those children displaced by the war, those that have been having to run to bomb shelters or learn online. But here they’re making friends and they’re also hearing about the love of God. Let’s go inside and find out more about this center.
Mercy Project’s Ukraine Director Yulia took me on a tour of their newly opened school while sharing more about their vision for this vital project.
We opened our centre three weeks ago. This is our class room where kids can play and then go their homework and then go upstairs. This is our robotics class.
You can see our new generation they are really talented kids and we can help them with that. For me it’s our future generation who will build our country after the war. That’s why we want to invest into their lives.
The children who come each day not only benefit from their lessons but also having social events together including this recent pumpkin party. These children told me about their favorite activities at the centre as well as their hobbies.
My name is Maia I like lego. My name is Vanya I like football. My name is Timor I like football. My name is Theodore I love lego and computer games. I like lego. I like to play football.
And this father Vitaliy shared how much it means to him to bring his son Timothy to the centre..
When they’re so young it’s important to have communication with real people their classmates.
And Yulia concluded by sharing the most important aspect of their work to ensure every family who comes here experiences the love of God.
Through our relationships we want to show God’s love to these kids. We care about them and we want to show them how God loves them through our activites.
So as these children continue to benefit from this school it’s hoped many more families will experience true treasures through the hope of Christ.
