Rooble* – Somali Christian
I still face many problems. But I’ve received what I have been hoping for all my life. I have received eternal life.

Rooble grew up in a Somali Muslim family living in the Horn of Africa, and even became a teacher in the mosque. But when he heard about Christ, he spent four years studying the Bible before taking the dangerous step to follow Jesus.

His family rejected him, disinherited him, and chased him away. So he fled to a new town.

Rooble
I started to share the gospel. Because of that. People said that I had gone insane. They put me in jail for three months. There they frequently beat me up while I lay on the ground. Sometimes they battered me until I vomited blood. I suffered a lot.

When he came out of jail Ruben was in a very bad condition. He moved again and undeterred, started preaching there.

Rooble
Again I was reported to the local authorities. When they heard about the preaching they arrested me along with my brother, who had also converted. They threw us in separate pits. There were the bodies of murdered people in those pits.

It smelt so bad. They had put us there to die. They said, throw those infidels in the pit and don’t feed them. They were the good while we were in those pits. My brother was killed. They killed him because of the word. I was saved thanks to my wife. She pleaded with the authorities, saying, my husband sometimes goes crazy when there is a bad Christian spirit in him.

She even brought witnesses who testified that I was possessed. They all confirmed that I was crazy. That’s why I was released. After that, I was jailed twice more. The first time I spent one and a half months behind bars. The last time only a few nights.

Despite the ongoing risk of imprisonment and even death Rooble won’t stop telling people about Jesus’s offer of eternal life. To help him Open Doors local partners invited Rooble to a workshop for emotional support and Biblical training.

Rooble
It was a privilege to meet fellow believers whom I had never met before. That encouraged me to be strong in Jesus. I also received knowledge that I didn’t have before.

Asking questions helps us to understand the Bible and how best to share the word. How to safely tell a friend how to share it with a neighbor. Thanks to God we reached out to people who were Muslims before who have now converted to Christ. We discipled them in secret. Please pray for me because the situation is very hard and dangerous. My life is in danger. I was tight. I thought about.
