Protecting First Responders in Israel with Armored Ambulances

As the Israel and Palestine conflict continues, Samaritan’s Purse is helping civilians as their homes turn into a battleground. Franklin and Edward Graham traveled to Jerusalem to dedicate the sixth armored ambulance to the Magen David Adom.

This vehicle is special as it houses a mobile intensive care unit and was purchased thanks to the help of Harvest Church. With 22 more armored ambulances planned to be donated by the end of the year, Samaritan’s Purse is dedicated to helping the civilians affected by this conflict to show God’s love even in the toughest crisis.

Today we’re in Jerusalem and we’re dedicating an armored ambulance. And this one is something that Samaritan’s Purse and then Harvest Church pastor Greg Lawrie out of California, their church has donated this one specifically. We want to give them a safe way to get civilians out of harm’s way and get the treatment they need.

Greg Laurie – Senior Pastor Harvest Christian Fellowship
Franklin Graham called me and told me that they were going to give them a lot of armored ambulances, which is a unique need in Israel. So I appealed to our church and our outreach audience, and we raised the money for it, and now we’re able to actually give it to them. And to me, it’s a privilege.

Franklin Graham – Samaritan’s Purse President and CEO
Magen David Adom are the first responders. The drivers were killed. The people that they were carrying were killed. They’ve lost 14 ambulances on October 7th. We’ve replaced all those, but we’re now adding armored ambulances that we’ve helped them.

So we’re here today to dedicate it, and we dedicate it to the Lord Jesus Christ. And it’s important that we show in a tangible way to the people of Israel that we as Christians stand with them.

Mike Huckabee – US Ambassador to Israel
When I arrived here, I was asked the question, what do you hope to do? What is your goal? I want every hostage, living and dead, to return home.

Thank God for Samaritan’s Purse, Harvest Church, and for the extraordinary people who risked their lives on an ambulance every day to go and rescue those who were in harm’s way.

Avishai Kapach – Magen David Adom
On a daily basis we feel threatened. We have constant terror attacks, stoning, shooting, broken bottles. There are cars who are getting shot at. Those ambulances are being used all the time because we have the threat all the time. Thank God that we have the armor that is to protect us and our patients.

Greg Laurie
You know, I think it’s so important for Christians to stand up for Israel and stand up for our Jewish friends. You know, we can say all day long while we’re praying for you and we care about you, but when you present them with an answer like this, not just one, but many, that is a tangible way of saying, we care.

We love you and we want to see life saved. So it was our honor to participate and all of our Christian friends that supported this

Lihi Levi Ingber – Survivor
What Samaritan’s Purse does for Israel, it’s I can describe it in words. Seriously. After all we have been through it means a lot. So thank you, Samaritan’s Purse.

Edward Graham
We do all this in the name of Jesus.

We give God the glory. This ceremony today is just a little representative to let Israel know that the church loves them and is praying for them. So thank you for your support in making this possible.
