Hurricane Melissa devastated many Jamaican communities, including those deeper into the island that became inaccessible from the rest of the island. However, no matter how hard the storm, no one is too far from God’s provision.

Paul Carr – Samaritan’s Purse
So we’re in a helicopter right now. Samaritan’s Purse are reaching cutoff communities here in Jamaica. But we’re talking about communities that have no access for resources, supplies to be able to reach them. Roads have been cut off because of flooding, landslides, because of trees that have made the roads inaccessible. And it’s such a blessing for Samaritan’s Purse to be able to have this helicopter capacity, because we’re literally reaching communities that are inaccessible.
So we’re coming in with our forward distributions, even when meeting these communities where they are. And we’re able to bring resources directly to these communities who have access to nothing at the moment.

We have no water, no food, no shelter, nothing. We really in need of help here. Many places, a lot of people have lost their life. But we have to give God thanks because we are all movement. We still have life.
Derick Ewan – Beneficiary
This one was a monster. No roof over my head, no running water, no electricity. We are pleading to whoever can ever help us.
Bev Kauffeldt – Samaritan’s Purse
We are going through and we’re finding people who are in dire need. We’re going by land, by air to get them help. We have reached already thousands of people, but there’s thousands of people still in need. We’re going to do whatever it takes to find those people, to make sure that they’re not lost, that they’re not forgotten. It is an urgent need.
Chuck Connelly – Samaritan’s Purse
So right now, these people or houses are ruined. The rest are ruined. But the community has come together. The church here has a lot of strong believers, and they’re housing each other to helping each other. So today is just another one of these great opportunities that God has given us to meet the needs here in Jamaica.

We are very thankful for you guys coming. This is the first assistant we are getting from anywhere.
Paul Carr
This is a really unique response to the Samaritan’s Purse have. Every day we’re hitting communities. We’re going out in the helicopters and we’re reaching those communities that have been cut off. We don’t know who we’re going to meet on the ground or what we’re going to find on the ground, and the communities don’t know we’re coming.
And so we’re really reaching out in faith. So every day, our teams across Jamaica are going to these communities to bring them relief and to bring them love in Jesus name.
Bev
There are still people cut off who are losing hope, and we want to get out there and give them hope. Please pray for those people. Pray for our staff.
Pray for favor that God will show us to get our containers up here quickly, that we can have a good supply chain, and we want to keep pushing into these areas that are hard to reach, so that people are getting what their need as soon as possible, and that they have an opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Derick
So I’m grateful for Samaritan’s Purse and all those people all over the world who came to Jamaica seeing our needs and trying to help. I’m so grateful.
