Bangladeshi Christian Girl Forgives her Persecutors

Bangladeshi Christian Girl Forgives her Persecutors

Moryom aged 9 from Bangladesh is rejected, mocked and bullied at school for her faith in Jesus. The one safe place she and her family have is their church.

And thanks to support from Christian charity Open Doors, Moryom can spend time with other Christian children at Sunday school, where she is accepted and loved.

Moryam

Even if I want to I can’t sit with my classmates. They won’t allow it. They don’t let me play with them, and sometimes they kick me for no reason. They say ‘You’re a Christian. We’ll only play with you if you return to Islam.

I walk 2km to school because no one will take me in their tricycle. Mullahs on the road mock me, telling the driver: ‘She is a Christian, why take her on your tricycle. I feel really said, sometimes I cry, but as a Christian I forgive them.

My mum is a Sunday school teacher and my dad is an evangelist. I really like that.

Reading the Bible gives us knowledge, wisdom and a good feeling. We also read from the Children’s Bible. On Christmas day we come together to sing, dance, eat and cut a cake.

Jesus was born to forgive our sins. He was born in a manger in Bethlehem. Shepherds were watching their flock at night. They went out and ended up in Bethlehem. That’s how they found Jesus.

When I become a teacher I will tell all the children about Jesus. This is my dream.

I forgive all who mistreat, insult, hate or don’t love me. Because Jesus forgave me that’s why I also forgive them.

Pray that people will love me and not persecute me when I go out.
