When Walid refused to deny his Christian faith, a colleague drew a knife and slit his throat.
He survived. He calls it a miracle.
[WALID SOT] “It is not less than a miracle in my life — because I was so strong in my faith. Many times they tried to make me convert to Islam. I always refused. And that is why I am still alive.”
After weeks in hospital, Walid returned home, but not to safety. The men who attacked him are still threatening to kill him. He and his family now live in hiding in Pakistan, afraid to step outside.
It has been a devastating time. But in the middle of it, there was a lifeline.
[WALID SOT] “I am so thankful to God, who made people like this to stand with us. After the incident I was out of work. My father was out of work. My brother was out of work. That money helped us so much in this situation.”
That help came from Help The Persecuted — a Christian ministry that walks alongside believers like Walid when their faith costs them everything: their safety, their livelihood, their future.
The ministry works across Pakistan and in 16 countries in the Islamic world. In the last year alone, more than 100,000 persecuted Christians were rescued, restored, and rebuilt.
Walid is one of them. There are thousands more waiting.
