As the war in Ukraine has now entered its fifth year, many Christian ministries continue to overcome major challenges to share the Gospel with those impacted by this long-standing conflict.

Faced with one of the harshest winters in many years, Slavic Gospel Association is supporting many churches near the frontlines to become places of heat and hope.

Igor Bandura is Vice President of the Baptist Union of Ukraine.

As churches share God’s love in very simple ways, sitting with people, providing warmth, preaching the Gospel, praying with people. This is why even in the midst of this darkest time of the war, churches in Ukraine are growing. We see many people coming to faith and baptized.

Meanwhile..New Life Radio in Odessa in South West Ukraine continues to broadcast a Christian message of hope across Ukraine and even throughout Russia. This is despite constant explosions taking place near their studios.

Dan Johnson is with New Life Radio International:

We thank God that whenever we hear a drone go by and go off, unfortunately for the people are impacted, we lament that but we praise the Lord that it didn’t hit us. But it’s one of those situations where we trust God for protection and even if our building gets hit God will provide another place for us to operate from.

So despite the devastation of this long-term war Christians remained determined to share the hope of Christ for a better spiritual future in Ukraine.
